I arrived at the residence to scope out the water damage emergency. The “washing machine failed to do its job” as the homeowner had put in those exact words. I could tell it was a stressful event for her. I started the inspection immediately and turned the water off and got to work. After all the water was extracted, I went to my truck to grab equipment to start the drying process and saw a little boy watching me in the window. We always carry little green SERVPRO ducks in the dash of our vans, so I grabbed one on my way inside the home. Little did I know there were two more kids and I had only one left in the van that afternoon. I mean, “what we’re the chances of that happening?” As promised, the very next day, I brought more. The kiddos had such a great time playing with the SERVPRO ducks and it kept them busy while I discussed the next steps of the restoration process. I gave the mother a few more ducks to stash in case the children lost them. That was the highlight of my day, seeing those happy faces, mom included, and I was glad to help.
